Road Trippin'

I've been in Montana the past two days visiting Montana State and doing some skiing today at Big Sky with my son.  You have to consider yourself really fortunate if you are at Big Sky when the weather is bluebird and you can see to eternity from the top of Lone Mountain.  A few photos.

The Lone Mountain tram.  This must be the most audacious lift in the U.S.
The Big Couloir through a fuzzy tram window.  Some were skiing it, but we opted for other options.
Fan Mountain, Ennis Lake, and the Madison Valley. A.K.A. God's country.
It doesn't get any better than this
Like Utah, it's thin in places
I've heard some rumors that they are making snow at the Canyons.  What a long strange season it's been...

  1. Not skiing or riding Big Couloir is like not skiing or riding Pipeline. (Generally speaking, Big Couloir is more forgiving and usually in better condition than Pipeline.)
