April Showers

Angry sky @ 7:30 AM
April Fools Day has arrived, but Mother Nature isn't really surprising anyone today.  She's simply giving us a classic April showers day as a weak upper-level moves across Utah.  Note the transition from southerly to easterly flow as one moves northward, which reflects the west-to-east oriented trough that currently lies over northern Utah.

So far, the showers have been mainly benign and haven't produced much in the Salt Lake Valley.  I'm hoping we can pop up some thunderstorms later today to at least make things a little interesting.

  1. I think the heavy showers over Sugarhouse, and the east to west flow right now are very interesting! :)

    1. Well, that was great. For me in Sugarhouse, it was a 10-12 hour event with an inch of rain and a bit of thunder. That's pretty good for a storm from the east to north-east.
