A Regional Mess

Every county in northern Utah in which the Utah Division of Air Quality provides real-time PM2.5 observations is above the National Ambient Air Quality Standard (24-hour average) except Duchesne (Roosevelt), and it is just a bit below it.  Read it and weep.

There's little point in sugar coating this.  The air is bad across most of northern Utah.  The weak system came through today and barely put a dent in it.  Relief can't come soon enough.

Addendum 6:45 AM:

I was pleasantly surprised to retrieve my paper this morning and find that the inversion cracked in the upper avenues.  Looks like there is still lingering fog and smog along the valley floor, but we did finally get some stirring last night.
