Great Graduation Weather!

Today will be a glorious day across the Wasatch Front and temperatures will be climbing.  The NAM puts our 700-mb temperature at +5C by late this afternoon, which might be the highest we've seen this year.

The highest temperature observed at the Salt Lake Airport in 2011 is 68F.  We should beat that today and top out at around 73.  Yes indeed, let's do 70!!!

Tomorrow looks to be quite nice for the U's graduation ceremonies.  Through noon tomorrow, about the mid-point of the College of Mines and Earth Sciences graduation ceremony, the NAM shows zonal large-scale flow with a stationary front to our north along the UT-ID border, but dry, mild conditions over Salt Lake.

Expect temperatures in the high 50s during the lineup University-wide graduation at 9am and in the mid-60s during the lineup for the 11:30 am College of Mines and Earth Sciences graduation.  Temps will top out again in the afternoon in the low-mid 70s.  Picture perfect for Moms and Dads!

  1. There have been March months with strings of 70 degree days. I wonder what the latest 70 degree day at KSLC is?
