Must see holiday shows for meteorologists

It's a ho-hum weather day, so I thought I'd spend a few moments talking about the one holiday show that every meteorologist must watch: A Year Without a Santa Claus.

Everything you need to know about weather and climate is contained in this special.  In particular, you have the battle between Snow Miser and Heat Miser, which is moderated by Mother Nature.  My favorite is Snow Miser, who epitomizes the best that weather has to offer.

On the otherhand, you have Heat Miser, enemy to all skiers.

There has been at least one remake of this show, but be sure to get the original.

I'm also a huge fan of the Dr. Suess classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  Again, I'm partial to the the original, which features Boris Karloff, than the movie that starred Jim Carrey.  I like this show because much of it is set on Mount Crumpit, a steep mountain near Whoville, that looks like a must ski and, based on the sledding scenes, appears to offer up the pow too.

You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch is also a great song, and numerous artists have covered it from Busta Rhymes to the Brian Setzer Orchestra.
